Finding JoY in the Journey

If you’re like me, this past year has been a struggle. COVID. Furloughs. Layoffs. Disappointments. Loneliness. Loss of loved ones. Loss of income. Loss of what used to be “normal.” Questions about when or if “normal” will return, and what it will look like when it does. Loss of joy….

I get it! There is a lot that is out of our control–these days, more than ever. So what’s a person to do?

I was raised in a “make the best of the situation” and “go with the flow” type of family. What was, was, and that’s all there was to it. Just put your head down and keep going.

That philosophy never really worked for me.

I’ll bet it doesn’t work for you either.

Joy-Based Life is about learning to find and hold onto joy no matter what. It’s not denial. It’s not a “Pollyanna” perspective. It’s resilience coupled with acceptance and grounded in hope. As long as there is life, there is hope. And where there is hope, there is the potential for JoY.

That’s what I’m all about..finding and holding onto JoY no matter what, and helping others do the same.

JoY-based living is facing life head-on and making the most of it. Sometimes that means strategizing and making a plan. Other times it requires pressing into the pain and learning how and where to find strength until the situation passes. Other times it may mean learning to let go and reframe or redefine hopes and expectations. One thing it doesn’t mean is giving up or giving in.

I hope you will join me on my journey and learn with me how to live the JoY-Based Life.

JoYfully,
